Mary Kay Party

Avery went to a Mary Kay Party with me and she was super good. She did everything that we did. The first part we put tea bags on our eyes to get rid of dark circles. Then we used all of our skin care products on our face. Lastly we put on makeup. As you can see Avery had her own coolor palette! :)

Harrison County Fair

Tonight my mother in law Connie took two of my nephews, the kids, and Brian and myself to the Harrison County Fair. It was hot, but the kids had a lot of fun so that made up for it. Avery rode ALL the rides that she was tall enough for. Peyton rode tons of rides too and was too short for one of the rides :( Probably next year he will be tall enough. Avery said her favorite part was riding all the rides. Peyton said his favorite part was the bumper cars. Avery had so much fun it was like her best dream. Right off the bat she got a balloon and popcorn, then rode all the rides, then had homeade chocolate ice cream! A big thank you to Connie for all that she does for her grandkids!! :)
p.s. Pregnant brain mommy forgot the camera :(

My Little Princess

Here are some recent pictures of Avery. The first two are from the playground. While Peyton and Daddy were playing tennis Avery and Mommy were playing on the playground. The last one is Avery getting ready to go to the Mary Kay party my friend had on Thursday night. She did everything that we did! My friend is sending me pictures. Stay tuned!

Tennis

Peyton loves to play tennis so we went to his school and played the other day. He is getting better! He just wants to hold the racket like he holds a baseball bat. I love the second picture! The harder he concentrates the farther he sticks out his tongue! It is so easy to play tennis on Wii! :) The last picture shows pretty good form though. Maybe someday...

Video of Avery as flower girl

Michael's Wedding

This weekend my little brother got married. Avery was a flower girl and Peyton was a ring bearer. The ceremony was beautiful! Katie's niece was the other flower girl and her son was the other ring bearer. Her brother in law officiated. Everything at the reception was so beautiful and it was all done by Katie's family and the members of her church! The first picture is my little ring bearer. The second pictures is the Adams hambones. The third is the kids with Grandma Verna. The last is the happy couple's first kiss :)

Every year we go to the Overlook for Jim and Connie's birthday. This year was no exception! The kids were really good during dinner and had fun getting their pictures taken. The first photo is all of Jim and Connie's grandkids (so far!!) The next is the kids with the birthday boy and girl. The next is our family picture. Don't I just look hot?

Mommy's Little Beautician

Peyton stayed with Grandma Betty and Papa Granville this week so it was all about Avery and what she wanted to do. On this day she wanted to play beauty shop. She gave Daddy a shave and a haircut and more than he bargained for, a pedicure complete with color! She had a blast and Daddy is a great sport!!

Art Sparks)

The Speed Art Museum has a kid section called Art Sparks. My friend Carrie and her daughter Jenna went with Avery and I. It had a ton of hands on stuff to do just like a real artist. First the girls went to the Preschool Zone where you could put on a puppet show, work with tiles that were magnetized, or draw a picture with rubbing chalk. The next room (in the first picture ) was their favorite, the paint room. They got to wear aprons and paint on easels. In this room they also had a huge light table where you could write with marker on the table. Avery thought that was really cool! They also had different play zones like a kitchen, a boat, and a construction zone. The girls had a blast! We spent two hours there! Plus they had fun while we were waiting to get in playing under the freeway! :) (last picture)

Louisville Science Center

On Monday I took Avery to the Louisville Science Center. While it does not have the amount of little kid friendly activities that COSI had, she found plenty to get into! The first picture was a dinosaur on display where we parked. She wanted to climb on top of it. The second picture is from Kidzone where they had this pretend ambulance. She would answer the phone and then get on the walkie talkie. She also loved pushing the buttons for the sirens and the lights. The next picture is in the pretend spaceship. The last
picture is in the water works part that she LOVED. Anytime she can get wet (and it is not called a bath) she is all for! Stay tuned for more girl day posts since Peyton is staying the week with Mama Betty and Papa Granville and visiting with his cousin Jackson!

Goodbye Southwest

Now that the ducks are gone it was time to get rid of the southwest border in our bathroom. My Mom and Granville just painted their guest bedroom in this deep maroon color and I thought it would be perfect with the oak cabinets and accents in our bathroom.

Goodbye Ducks!!

We finally got rid of the ducks in the kids bathroom. We found this fun shower curtain and then painted the walls a kid friendly teal. Now it looks like a kid bathroom without being "too" kid! I took new pictures to put in the picture frames on the wall, that is the two last pictures. Ham bones!! We left a spot on the wall for the baby's first bath picture!!

July Fourth Parade

For July 4th we took the kids to the Corydon July 4th Parade. John Belski (a local weatherman) was the MC. There were lots of colonial inspired floats since this was the 200th anniversary of the parade. The newspaper photographer took several pictures of Avery so we will be watching to see if they made the paper! The kids favorite part was of course the horse poop! The heros of the parade were the guys driving the truck and shoveling the poop. What is the facsination with poop with little kids?
In the first picture Peyton, Lucas, Taylor, Avery, and Lucas are patiently waiting for the parade to start. In the second picture Peyton is preparing for the loud noises that are to come. In the third picture was the kids second favorite thing of the parade: the candy! And in the last picture was my favorite float, the Corydon Democrat in the old time clothing and with an old time camera. Happy July 4th to everyone!
