More storm pictures

The trees looked really pretty with the ice sparkling off the branches. Until we started hearing cracks and branches falling all over the place. Big ones too! Even though we were stuck in the car at mom's house until the electric came back on the baby was super happy. At least it was warm in the car. When we left the house for Mom's the temperature in the house was 57 degrees. We were happy to be in bed and warm at the end of the day :)

Winter Storm

This week we had a pretty bad snow and ice storm. The first night I was up feeding the baby and our electricity went out about 2 in the morning. It was still not back on in the morning. So after layering and coloring for several hours, we decided to go to Mom and Granville's house. (around 12) When we got to their house their electricity had gone out! We went to Meijer and out to lunch and about 4:30 their's came back on. We spent the night there. The next morning we contacted a neighbor that let us know our power had come back on that night at 9pm. We slipped and slided all the way home. The night we got home we went to get our taxes done and Connie and Jim watched the kids. They had just gotten their electricity back on a few hours before. We went to Ryan's for dinner and the lights went out there!!!! We are starting to think that we zapp the electricity out of where ever we go!!
They are saying more snow this coming week. I will be in school until July!

Author night

Peyton had a special night at school. He had written a story in class and was able to read it for everyone on a microphone! His story was about his 6th birthday at the Fun House. Avery wasn't happy until she got a turn on the mic. Peyton got his picture taken with his teacher Mrs. Evans who just had a baby a week before Bryce was born! She had a little girl.

Cub Scout go see it

Peyton and Daddy went to the firehouse and to a radio station with the Cub Scouts. They BOTH had a really good time :)

Christmas morning

On Christmas morning the kids woke up and came out see what Santa had left them. Avery got a whole kitchen set complete with coffee maker and toaster. Peyton got Star Wars little men. The baby got a mirror for the car. After the presents were open, Mama and Papa Hinton came over and we had breakfast. Then Uncle Michael, Aunt Katie, and Aiden came over. They opened their presents from each other and Mama and Papa. Everyone had a lot of fun playing with each other.

Making biscuits

While staying with Grandma McKean, Avery helped her make biscuits. (Just like when I was little)! She mixed them up in her own bowl and then patted them out in her own little iron skillet. Once they were baked she had specific plans for them. One for her and daddy and the other two she saved for Uncle Dave and Papa Jim. They were pretty good! But not as good as the original :)
