July Fourth Parade

For July 4th we took the kids to the Corydon July 4th Parade. John Belski (a local weatherman) was the MC. There were lots of colonial inspired floats since this was the 200th anniversary of the parade. The newspaper photographer took several pictures of Avery so we will be watching to see if they made the paper! The kids favorite part was of course the horse poop! The heros of the parade were the guys driving the truck and shoveling the poop. What is the facsination with poop with little kids?
In the first picture Peyton, Lucas, Taylor, Avery, and Lucas are patiently waiting for the parade to start. In the second picture Peyton is preparing for the loud noises that are to come. In the third picture was the kids second favorite thing of the parade: the candy! And in the last picture was my favorite float, the Corydon Democrat in the old time clothing and with an old time camera. Happy July 4th to everyone!

Paul's Birthday

My best friend Jess has been fostering a little boy named Paul since March of this year. She recently threw him a third birthday. In the first picture Peyton and Avery are trying so hard to write their names in the card correctly! In the second picture they are taking a time out so Peyton could read a Rugrats book. The last two are of the birthday boy and Jess opening his presents. I am in awe of Jess' patience with Paul. She is giving so much of herself physically and mentally, which shows how strong of a person she is! Happy Birthday Paul!

Swim Lessons

My friend Erin is giving the kids swim lessons. They are doing pretty good considering neither one of them like to go completely under the water!! The cutest thing is that Avery can not do two things at once like kicking and moving arms. Once one starts the other stops!! Erin is really patient!! It will only take a few more years before they are experts!! :)

COSI in Columbus

Papa Jim and Mama Bev took the kids to COSI. We had a great time learning about Science! Sarah and Samantha (our cousins) went with us and all of the kids had a great time. (Even us the big kids) Avery's favorite part was the water!! Shocking...and Peyton loved getting to go in the submarine.

Kings Island 2008

We went to Kings Island and the kids had a BLAST! They got their pictures taken with all of the Nickelodeon characters. Avery did not want to do this at first but then warmed up to the idea when she saw Dora! I was very surprised by the fast scary rides that Peyton rode!! Avery was content with the Little Bill Rollercoaster and the Blues Clues Plane. We had yummy pizza and Graeters Ice Cream.

While Grandma Connie was out of town we kept Papa Jim company. He let the kids play in the sprinkler and they had a blast!! Avery would not actually go into the water but she had fun getting "rained" on. Peyton was covered in rain from head to toe. Summer has officially started!

Peyton Repeats!!

Peyton's t-ball team won the championship AGAIN this year!! It was a great game. We had a mini monsoon stop play for a little while and then we were tied so we had to go into an extra inning! Let's go Red Sox! After the game the players were treated to pizza by their coach.
